SPENCERVILLE — Columbus Grove's boys and girls track teams put together solid team performances Saturday to win Northwest Conference track and field championships at the Charles D. Moeller Athletic Complex in Spencerville.
Both Bulldog squads were sitting in second place entering the final day of competition but turned in some excellent performances on the track to pull out the wins.
The Grove boys repeated as NWC championships as they outlasted Bluffton 134-123. First day leader Spencerville finished third with 101 points.
On the women's side, the Lady Bulldogs used an advantage in the sprints, and field events, to overcome the Lady Bearcats 152-137.5. Bluffton was third with 87 points.
The two teams enter district action this Thursday and Saturday at Liberty-Benton.
