Columbus Grove rallies to defeat LCC

COLUMBUS GROVE - Columbus Grove overcame a sluggish third quarter to defeat Lima Central Catholic 58-57 in non-league action.The Bulldogs had a 35-33 halftime lead on the strength of a 14-11 first quarter scoring edge. The T-Birds battled back to take the lead after three quarters as they outscored Grove 19-10 in the third quarter.
Columbus Grove regrouped between the two quarters to outscore LCC 13-5 in the final eight minutes. The Bulldogs defense held the T-Birds without a point for six minutes in the quarter.
Jade Clement and Rachel Schumacher both had 13 points to lead the Bulldogs as both players canned three three-pointers. Julie Wynn had nine points and 11 rebounds and Sammi Stechschulte added nine points.
The win over the Bulldogs to 6-3 on the season, while LCC dropped to 6-2.
FINDLAY - Liberty-Benton handed Leipsic its first Blanchard Valley Conference loss of the season Thursday night with a 50-41 win.
The Vikings dropped to 3-1 in the conference, while the Eagles improved to 4-0.
Bowling Green bound Rachel Myers had 23 points to lead the Eagles. Haley Gerten had 11 points for the Vikings and Amber Gerdeman finished with 10.
Hardin Northern 23
PANDORA - Pandora-Gilboa held Hardin Northern to six first half points as the Rockets claimed a 65-23 Blanchard Valley Conference win.
The Rockets had a 23-2 lead after the opening quarter and were up 42-6 at halftime with a 19-4 run in the second quarter.
Anna Abelovska had 15 points to lead the Rockets (2-2, 4-3). Megan Maag added 13 points and Hunter Hermiller hit three three-pointers as she had 11 points.
Kylee Hooker had seven points for the Polar Bears (0-4, 1-9).
Pandora-Gilboa won the junior varsity game 42-8
Delphos St. John's 22
DELPHOS _ Kalida picked up a non-league win over Delphos St. John's as the Wildcats posted a 37-22 win. The Wildcats are 4-3 on the season.
Kalida had a slim 10-9 lead after the opening quarter before using a 15-4 scoring run in the second quarter to take a 25-13 halftime lead. Neither team had a strong offensive showing in the second half as Kalida outscored the Blue Jays 12-9.
Brittany Kahle paced the Wildcats with 13 points, while Kylie Osterhage and Elizabeth Turnwald both had eight points.
Rebekah Fischer had six points for the Blue Jays as they hit only 8-of-39 field goal attempts in the game.
Ottawa-Glandorf moved to 2-1 in the Western Buckeye League with a 67-36 win over Celina. The Titans are 5-2 on the season.
The Titans used a 16-3 run in the second quarter to take control of the contest.
Michelle Maag hit four three-pointers for O-G as she had 17 points. Kristen Miller added 15 points. Anna Bellman pulled down seven rebounds and two steals and Stephanie Hempfling had six assists and four steals
