LEIPSIC – Richard D. Thomas, 73, of Leipsic died at 6:03 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 11, 1943 in Hamler to the late Russell and Helen
(Ritter) Thomas. On June 25, 1979, he married Patricia “PJ” Ball who
survives in Leipsic.
Survivors also include five children, Chris (Christine) Thomas of
Georgia, Mark (Ute) Thomas of Germany, Jennifer (Dale) Reynolds of Lima,
Stacy (Ossie) Hayes of McComb, and Kendra (Jason) Dodds of Kenton;
seven grandchildren and three special grandchildren, Zoey, Tanner, and
Cash; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marilyn Cupp of Leipsic
and Martha (Ted) Frick of Miller City.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Thomas; a sister, Madeline Thomas; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Cupp.
Richard retired in 1996 from Philips ECG formerly of Ottawa. He was a
member of the Philips Quarter Century Club and NRA. He was a devoted
father and grandfather who loved to build things for his kids and
grandkids. He loved to hunt and fish, and was an avid collector.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on Sunday, Jan. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the banquet room at the Schnipke Inn, Ottawa.
