CONTINENTAL - Pauline Groff, 93 of Continental and Englewood, Florida died 7:50 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. She was born Sept. 27, 1920 in Ohio City, Ohio to the late Chester and Clara May (Kesler) McLean. On Dec. 12, 1946, she married Floyd C. Groff who died August 28, 2004.
She is survived by a son: Robert (Brenda) Groff of Continental; 5 daughters: Margaret (Mike Sprock) Agner of Bogart, Georgia; Susan (Lew) Johnston of Phoenix, Maryland; Dawn (Gary) Bushong of Findlay; Carol (Gary) Brown of Englewood, FL and Pam (Darwin) Verhoff of Continental; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law: David McLean and Chris Groff and a son-in-law: Dwight Agner.
Pauline was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Continental. Pauline was a wonderful mother and accomplished cook and seamstress. She worked for United States Postal Service, Continental Can, Van Wert and Kirchers Flowers formerly in Continental and 4-H advisor for many years.
Funeral service will begin 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church, Continental with Rev. Charles Schmunk officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental and one hour prior to service on Tuesday at the church.
Memorials maybe given to Continental Community Library or Defiance County Hospice.
