Mildred Frances (Millie) Roof, 88, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.  She was born March 28, 1926 in Kalida, to Ben and Philomena “Minnie” (Feltman) Maag.
    Millie was a 1944 graduate of the Columbus Grove High School.  She married Wilbert A. Roof, August 31, 1949.  Wilbert survives at the Hilty Home, Pandora.  A homemaker, she was also a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, and the Altar Rosary Society of the church.  Other membership included the Bowers-Slusser American Legion Post 516 Auxiliary, Columbus Grove.  She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, her vegetable garden.
    Surviving is daughter Sharon Kidd, Ottawa;  sons Ron (Linda) Roof, Franklin, Tennessee; Randy (April) Roof, Columbus Grove; Jim (Mary) Roof, Van Wert; Jeff Roof, Columbus Grove; Tom (Jenni) Roof, Kalida and Doug Roof, Columbus Grove; a sister, Marcia (James) Kuhlman, Ottawa; five brothers:  Carl (Rita) Maag, Columbus Grove; Urban (Rosemary) Maag, Columbus Grove; Eugene (Shirley) Maag, Columbus Grove; Leroy (Karen) Maag, Columbus Grove.  Sisters in law Viola Maag, Leipsic and Jenny Maag, Columbus Grove; grandchildren: Chad (Amy) Kidd; Todd (Tara) Roof; Kurt Roof; Nathan Roof; Megan Roof; Hannah Roof; Eric (Meagan) Roof; Brandon Roof; R.J. Roof, Kyle (Brittany) Roof; Gabe Roof; Katelyn Roof; Brody Roof. Also surviving is grand daughter-in-law Amy Kidd, Ottawa; great grandsons: Owen, Austin and Knox Kidd; great granddaughters: Natalie Roof; Paisley Roof, and Quinn Kidd.
    She was preceded in death by a grandson: Brian Kidd and four brothers: Harold, Omar, Dan and James Maag; two sisters: Evelyn (Harold) Wannemacher and Catherine “Katie” (Harold) Deters.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Columbus Grove.  Officiating will be Rev. Tom Extejt, with burial to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
    Visitation will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove.  A rosary service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, at the funeral home.
    Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society; St. Anthony’s Catholic Church or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
