LEIPSIC - Jeffrey Clayton Christman, 52, of Leipsic died at 5:09 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Lima.
He was born May 28, 1961 in Bowling Green to Clayton and Ruth (Diamond) Christman. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Defiance. On Sept. 30, 1995, he married Sue Oren, who survives in Leipsic.
Survivors also include his stepchildren who he considered his own: Darci (Jeff) Swick of Fort Jennings and Derek (Melinda) Hermiller of Leipsic; three grandchildren: Jarron and Cayden Swick, and Carson Hermiller; and a sister: Kelli (Scott) Seiler of Bryan.
Jeff was part owner of Christman Brothers Lumber Company, Leipsic. He also owned many rental properties throughout the surrounding counties. Jeff loved working with his hands, always tinkering on many projects with an eye on detail. Jeff had vintage cars and was an avid pool player traveling to tournaments with his pool team. He was past president of his billiard league in Ottawa. Jeff and Sue enjoyed going to concerts and vacationing with family and friends. Jeff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. The time spent with his family was his favorite, always playing cards and games or was outside swimming, playing corn hole or just setting around the bonfire listening to music. Jeff never passed up a chance to spend countless hours with his grandsons as they were his number one priority. He always loved being with them and never wanted them to leave.
A "GIVER" and a gentle giant is how Jeff is to be remembered, always doing for others, never questioning why, and always doing his best. He will always be remembered and will never be forgotten.
He was a member of Deshler United Methodist Church and a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and Findlay University where he played football.
