PUTNAM COUNTY — The wind chill advisory for this area remains in effect until 1 p.m. today (Friday). The winter weather advisory is in effect from10 a.m. today to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a winter weather advisory for snow and blowing snow.

Wind chills of 15 to 25 below zero will continue this morning. Increasing southwest winds will cause blowing and driving snow by midday, continuing this afternoon. Snow will overspread the area from the northwest this evening. Snow will taper off Saturday morning.

Total new snow accumulations tonight and Saturday are expected to be 2 to 4 inches across most of the area. Strong winds will continue to cause blowing and drifting snow tonight and Saturday.
