LEIPSIC — Around 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, a passenger truck driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a home north of Leipsic.

According to Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy R.D. Thornton, one of the first officers to arrive on the scene, for a presently unknown reason the northbound driver of the truck got off the left side of Road 7, over-corrected, came back across and went off the right side.

"At this point, there was only one person in the vehicle, the driver," said Thornton.

From there, the unidentified driver side-swiped a telephone pole and crashed into the northwest side of a one-story house located at 2813 Road 7, Leipsic. No one in the house was injured and the driver was treated on the scene before transport to the Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center.

Responders included fire departments from Ottawa and Leipsic and Putnam County Emergency Medical Services. The crash is currently under investigation.
