LIMA — The Lima Beane Chorus is presenting the 66th Annual Barbershop
Harmony Show on Saturday, April 5, at the Lima Veterans Memorial Civic
and Convention Center. Two performances are scheduled for 2 and 7:30
p.m. Tickets for reserved seats are $15. To order, call 419-224-1552
Monday through Friday from 12 to 5 p.m.
In addition to
performances by the entire chorus the show will feature 2013 Johnny
Appleseed Distict Quartet Champions/2013 International Quartet
semi-finalists Common Core as well as Buckeye Blend, a comedy quartet
who feature Ohio State University athletics.
Lima Beane Chorus is open to males of all ages, nine to ninety-nine,
and currently includes 42 vocalists from Putnam, Allen, Auglaize, Hardin
and Hancock counties, all who enjoy barbershop harmony. Musical
experience or training is not required to become a Lima Beane, and many
educational opportunities are available through the Barbershop Harmony
Society.Those interested in singing with the group are invited to join
in practice sessions which are held each Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at
Marimor School, 2550 Ada Rd., Lima (east side entry to the school).
Lima Beane Chorus is a nonprofit organization with a charitable mission
to “preserve our musical legacy through support of vocal music
education in our schools and communities.”
