PUTNAM COUNTY — A wide variety of unpleasant weather advisories have been issued for Putnam County by the National Weather Service.

A brief period of icing is possible early Thursday morning. Rain will continue along with a few thunderstorms. Although temperatures are above freezing, the ground remains frozen and is allowing rain to freeze.

A flood watch also remains in effect this morning through late tonight. The combination of melting snow, moderate to locally heavy rainfall and a deeply frozen ground may lead to flooding today and tonight.

Rainfall amounts between one half inch and one inch are expected today into this evening. An additional one to two inches of water could e released from the snow on the ground as it melts.

Also the hydrologic prediction service indicates the Blanchard River in Ottawa is at 7.29 feet. The graph indicates the river may rise to 23.1 feet (Minor flooding) on Saturday

The National Weather Service has also issued a wind advisory for this county from 6 p.m. thursday to 6 p.m. Friday. Winds are predicted to be 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph.
