PUTNAM COUNTY — A winter weather advisory is now in effect until 1 p.m. this afternoon. The wind chill warning remains in effect until 11 a.m., Wednesday.

Strong winds gusting to around 35 mph this morning will cause considerable blowing and drifting snow. Winds will gradually subside during the day and blowing and drifting snow will gradually subside during the day.

Wind chills will be 15 below to 25 below zero this morning, falling to 25 to 35 below by this evening. These dangerous wind chills will continue into Tuesday, with slow improvement Tuesday night and Wednesday.
