Columbus Grove area accident under investigation

ALLEN COUNTY— The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two vehicle injury crash that occurred on June 19 at approximately 12:56 p.m. The injury crash occurred on SR 65 at Miller Road in Monroe Township in Allen County.
At approximately 12:56 hours a white 2011 Chevrolet Impala driven by Karl S. Stechschulte, 81, and front seat passenger Blanche T. Stechschulte, 80, both of Columbus Grove, were traveling northbound on SR 65 approaching the intersection of Miller Road. A red 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck driven by Stephen L. Diller, 64 of Vaughnsville, was traveling eastbound on Miller Road and failed to yield
from a posted stop sign striking the 2011 Chevrolet Impala in the left drivers door.
Both Stechschultes were taken to St. Rita's Medical Center by Columbus Grove EMS with non-life threatening injuries. Diller was not injured.
Seatbelts were in use during the crash and alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Columbus Grove Police Department, Columbus Grove Fire and EMS, Putnam County EMS and Blakes Towing. The crash remains under investigation.
