CONTINENTAL — A Continental sophomore has been honored with the February Putnam County Optimist Character award.

Breanne Eickholt, a straight-A student, was nominated by Jenny Hopps. The K-12 art teacher at Continental School.

Breanne is involved in volleyball, cheerleading, softball, National Honor Society, quiz bowl, and also participates in school plays and musicals. She has earned numerous art awards.

“You’ll see Breanne with a smile on her face, willing to help others, said Hopps. “She lends a listening ear, gives helpful advice and is also an overall positive impact in someone’s day.”

In her free time Breanne likes to practice her photography skills. She recently won first place in the 2016 Lima News Photo contest and earned a $500 cash prize.

She has also started taking photos for friends and continues to donate her photography earnings to the SIDS Research Foundation.

“She is a jack of all trades with a heart of gold,” Hopps said. “She leaves a lasting positive impression with everyone she comes across.”

“The world could use more people like Breanne Eickholt,” Hopps said in her nomination letter.
