KALIDA — Pioneer Days in Kalida, one of Ohio’s oldest festivals, has announced the theme for this year’s parade to be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, Sept. 7th. The theme was chosen from entries submitted by Kalida Elementary school children.

The lucky winner was Brooke Erhart, daughter of Joe and Gina Erhart. The theme chosen was: Volunteerism: Making our Communities Strong!

For her winning entry, Brooke will receive a free pass to ride the rides all four days of Pioneer. Rides will again be provided by Durant Amusements.

Pioneer Days is always held the weekend after Labor Day and is jointly sponsored by the Kalida Lions and the Kalida Firefighters. The Pioneer Days parade is one of the largest parades held in Ohio.
